Principal's Corner

principal morganDear Manley Parents, Guardians, Students, and Community:

My name is Mr. Warren Morgan and it is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new Principal for Manley College and Career Academy High School. An amazing opportunity is presented before us to revitalize the exemplary history Manley has of empowering and educating both the student body and the surrounding community. As a school leader with a rich background in instructional leadership and community/civic engagement, I partner with parents, students, and community members so that we can raise student achievement at Manley High School.

This past year Manley High School achieved some successes such as increasing Senior college acceptances by 20%; decreasing the student drop out rate; and creating a school culture of respect, responsibility, and reflection through the Manley Time Advisory and restorative justice structures. Though Manley has made some progress, we have a lot of work to do. Below are the Manley High School goals for the 2011-2012 school year:

  • 80% student attendance (Each student cannot exceed 5 absences per quarter)
  • 80% Student On-Track rate (All students must pass all of their classes with a grade of a C or higher)
  • 80% of Seniors accepted into at least one 4 year college or University
  • 15.3 Average ACT Score
  • Increase student academic growth to 23% (All students must demonstrate academic growth in Math, Reading, English, and Science.)
  • Increase Parent and Community Involvement

In order for Manley to achieve these goals we must work relentlessly, collaboratively, and reflectively. As your new school Principal, there are three things you will receive from me as a leader.

  1. COMMUNICATION
  2. ACCOUNTABILITY
  3. DATA DRIVEN DECISIONS

Please check out our school newsletters for information on current Manley data, events, and happenings!

Sincerely,

Mr. Warren G. Morgan, II
Principal, Manley Career Academy High School
